Donnie Wahlberg Bio Data :
Singer, actor, and producer Donald Edmond Wahlberg Jr. His nickname is “Donnie,” and he’s well-known for it. On August 17th, 1969, Donnie was born in Dorchester, Massachusetts, United States. Donnie was the eighth of his parents’ ten children to be born. Alma Wahlberg, his mother, worked as a nurse’s aide at ‘St. Margaret Hospital,’ and Donald Wahlberg, his father, was a truck driver. To honor his father, Donnie was given the name.
In Roxbury, Massachusetts, he attended the William Monroe Trotter School. To go to school, he had to walk for more than 30 minutes. He became fond of rap music throughout those long commutes to and from school. During his time at Roxbury High School, he met Danny Wood and they became friends. He and Danny began writing rap songs together.
He and his younger brother Mark moved live with their mother when their parents split up. Copley High School accepted him. Danny, too, has enrolled at this institution. This is where the original ‘Kool-Aid Bunch’ rap group got their start. He got his start in theatre at ‘Copley High School,’ where he participated in school productions as an actor, singer, playwright, and director.
He joined ‘NYNUK,’ a young singing group when he was 15.
Donnie married Kim Fey in 1999, and they divorced in 2008. Xavier and Elijah are their two boys. He married Jenny McCarthy, a TV celebrity, in Illinois in 2014. Mark Wahlberg, his younger brother, is also an accomplished actor, singer, and producer in his own right. At a restaurant called ‘Wahlburgers’ in the city of Boston, Paul is the cook. Donnie and Mark also have a stake in the restaurant as do Paul’s brothers.
Donnie tried out for Maurice Starr as a 15-year-old in 1984. By the time Maurice saw him perform, he was speechless. As a result, he delegated to him the task of putting together the band dubbed “New Kids on the Block.” Danny Wood and Jordan Knight’s elder brother Jonathan joined Donnie’s list of potential recruits.
In spite of the group’s self-titled debut, it was a flop. For their second album, “Hangin Tough,” they received critical and commercial success.
Maurice Starr was fired from the band in 1993. ‘Face the Music,’ their 1994 self-released album, was a critical and commercial success. The reviews for this album were very positive. However, it was not a commercial success. Later that year, ‘New Kids on the Block’ dissolved.
After the band disbanded, Donnie resolved to give his younger brother Mark a run for his money by imitating him. Acting appearances in films like “Bullet,” “Ransom,” and “Black Circle Boys” brought him some recognition in 1996 and 1997. With his brother Robert, Southie was released in 1998 and he had a leading part in it. In 1999, Donnie got his big break in the film ‘Sixth Sense,’ which he starred in. The film was a big success, and reviewers complimented his performance.
As a WWII paratrooper in the highly acclaimed ten-part miniseries “Band of Brothers,” he made an unforgettable impression on audiences in 2001. His further acting credits include the television series “Boom Town” (2002-2003) and the film “Dream Catcher” (2003). When Saw was released in 2005, the actor was cast in a string of financial successes. The boxing drama ‘Annapolis,’ in which he starred, and the television series ‘Runaway,’ both aired in 2006.
Reunited in 2008, “New Kid on the Block” re-released their album “The Block.” The ‘US Billboard Top Internet Albums’ chart showed this album as the best of the year. To promote the record, the band embarked on a worldwide tour. During this trip, they were able to reconnect with their audience.
On CBS’s Blue Bloods, he appeared in the second season in 2010. An extensive tour in promotion of their latest album, “10,” was undertaken by “New Kid on the Block” in 2013. ’98 Degrees’ and ‘Boyz II Men’ were also part of this tour. In 2014, he and his two older brothers, Paul, the oldest, and the youngest, produced a reality program called ‘Wahlburgers,’ which centered on the bond between brothers and brothers. Fans and reviewers alike had a positive reaction to this show. The band’s debut EP, ‘Thankful,’ was published in 2017 and got favorable reviews. ‘Salt-N-Pepa,’ Debbie Gibson, Tiffany, and ‘Naughty By Nature’ were some of the artists they cooperated with on their ‘MixTape Tour’ in October 2018.
