Sherrie Veronica Krenn (born 28 August 1970) is an Australian actress and country music singer. Austin has been singing since she was a teenager, and she began her career as one half of the duo Colourhaus, which also included Phil Radford. She relocated to the United States after leaving Colourhaus to pursue a solo career. She released five studio albums during her time there, as well as six singles that appeared on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. In 2003, her highest-charting single was “Streets of Heaven,” which reached No. 18. On November 15, 2011, her most recent album was released. Austin began her start in music when she was 14 years old, opening for Johnny Cash in Australia. She eventually relocated to the United States and began performing. In the United States, she is best known for her role as Pippa McKenna on The Facts of Life from 1987 to 1988. She made her first appearance as “Lady Penelope” in episode 20 of the first season of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in 1991.

She began her singing career in the 1990s, forming Colourhaus with Phil Radford in 1992 and releasing one album, Water to the Soul. The album’s song “Innocent Child” was released as a single, with the B-side “We Talk to the Angels,” and it reached No. 50 on the Billboard Hot 100. On October 5, 1992, the Colourhaus song “Colour Me You” was used on the soundtrack of the Baywatch episode “Rookie of the Year.” Austin then relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, in order to pursue a career in country music. Her first solo album, Words, was released in 1997 under the Arista Nashville label. “Lucky in Love,” “One Solitary Tear,” “Put Your Heart Into It,” and “Innocent Man” were among the singles released.

Both “Lucky in Love” and “Put Your Heart into It” made it into the Top 40 on the country charts, peaking at No. 34. Love in the Real World, her second and final album for Arista, was released in 1999 and featured the No. 29 single “Never Been Kissed,” which was followed by “Little Bird.” Following RCA’s acquisition of Arista Records, Austin’s publishing firm, Reynsong Publishing, established Wrensong Entertainment and signed with Madacy Entertainment for her next album, Followin’ a Feelin’, which featured a rendition of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” as its lead-off single. Later, she signed with Broken Bow Records, an independent company. Her fourth country album, Streets of Heaven, featured the title tune, which became her biggest country success. The record was followed by “Son of a Preacher Man,” a rendition of the Dusty Springfield song that was never released as a single. Austin went to New York City in 2005 and starred in the production of Bonnie & Clyde at the New York Musical Theater Festival.
