Singer and songwriter Whitney Duncan (born August 3, 1984) is an American country music artist. She was a finalist in Nashville Star’s fifth season, coming in fifth place. With “When I Said I Would” and “Skinny Dippin’,” she has charted on the U.S. Hot Country Songs chart.
She has also released a Christmas single and appeared on a Kenny Rogers single released before her Nashville Star appearance. Her singing career began at her church, and she went on to perform in talent shows, fairs, and festivals in the area. Also, she would travel to the neighbouring states of Kentucky and Missouri in order to perform at special events. She began performing in local clubs in her early teens, including Tootsie’s Lounge in Nashville.Duncan signed a recording contract with a label in her senior year of high school and recorded a few of her own songs. In November 2008, a cover of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” was released as a digital single. From Right Road Now was released as an EP on the iTunes Store as a digital download.Due to the lacklustre success of Duncan’s singles, Right Road Now was originally scheduled for a May 2009 release.

Following the show’s 15th anniversary, viewers voted Duncan fifth most attractive female contestant in the show’s history in an issue of CBS Watch magazine.
